Year and welcome to the February 2006 CoVE Newsletter.
This
edition gives an overview of the main discussion points from the autumn
term SDGs, an update on LSDA and other research projects and reports, and
good news stories and successes within the CoVE network.
Good practice
The CoVE
database of good and interesting practice has recently been updated and
is available on the LSDA CoVE website.
Examples
this term include regional networking and CPD planning and delivery
across a range of member colleges; positive action to recruit females
into the construction industry; research into employer needs;
successful employer forum and many more.

Consultation: During the autumn term CoVEs have
had the opportunity to take part in further consultation on the future
format and structure of the SDGs.

CoVE Assessment and Re-assessment:
The LSC has just finalised the CoVE re-aligned criteria that
will be used to assess and re-assess CoVE status.
The LSC introduces the details of the criteria, processes and
proposed timetable.

(ALI) has published a thematic Survey of Centres of Vocational Excellence
and the Annual Report of the Chief Inspector 2004-05 in which eleven CoVEs are
identified as amongst the best providers.
