CoVE Project Reports 2002 – 2003

In 2002 - 2003 five CoVE projects were supported by the LSC and delivered by the LSDA.

Construction Technical Certificates Development

This project has been a collaboration between CoVEs and ConstructionSkills (the Sector Skills Council) to produce a framework and materials for Construction Technical Certificates. the material has been piloted in a number of centres. The DfES Standards Unit are also linked into the project.

Catering Unitising the Curriculum Project

Catering CoVEs explored the evidence from employers about their needs and conducted a survey of local employers. The second phase involved their delivering training to local employers along the lines requested.

Staff Skills to support the spreading of good CoVE practice

This project aimed to draw up and test a template of skills needed to share good practice through a range of activities.

Marketing CoVE to Employers

This project explored the ways in which a range of CoVE providers had marketed the programme to employers. The second phase involved providers in trialling a new marketing method.

Using Labour Market Information

This project looked at the LMI (Labour Market Information) produced by an SSC (SEMTA) and how Engineering CoVEs could use it in delivering their provision. The project also looked at information gathered by CoVEs and how that could be used by the SSC.
