Summary: All types of learning organisations want to attract men and women that are often called 'non-traditional' learners. To do this they need to respond directly to the needs of the learners rather than those of the organisation and its established patterns. For those working to widen participation in learning, this publication provides ideas and suggestions from 25 projects and programmes across England. Every case study was chosen to illustrate a different aspect of widening participation and is an example of good practice. The resources includes the impact; challenges and pitfalls; lessons learned and transferable tips arising from each case study so that others can adapt the ideas in their own organisations.
