Summary: The activities in this pack can be used with either staff, within a training and development session, or learners, as part of their citizenship programme. They aim to introduce participants to the meaning of ‘controversy’; to provide techniques for dealing with controversy; and to build the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to use these techniques effectively. Each activity has suggestions for assessment of citizenship learning, to be used with young people and focused on the relevant learning objectives.
