Summary: This spring edition of the 14-19 News endeavours to keep you abreast of the latest developments in both policy and practice. We have a leading article from Jon Coles at the DfES on progress on the '14-19 Implementation Plan’. We also have updates from QCA on functional skills as well as on the new A levels in applied subjects , the LSC on the Local Area Prospectus, the DfES on enterprise and an article on one innovative approach to ensure that students in a semi-rural community have access to vocational courses. With reference to training and consultancy , teaching and learning remains the most popular area but there is a rising demand for support on employer engagement, information advice and guidance, strategic planning, and equality and diversity.
