Summary: This is the largest study of research on student persistence and drop-out ever undertaken in the UK. More than 8,500 students completed questionnaires, and more than 500 students, teachers, managers and other college staff took part in meetings and discussions. It offers conclusions about the effectiveness of key college management mechanisms and makes recommendations to improve student retention rates.
