About Us

LSN Research supports policy makers and practitioners by carrying out research to enhance the evidence base that informs development and quality improvement in post-compulsory education and training.

AIMS:

To develop the business

To develop and deliver research projects which are well received and attract research contracts from key funders.

  • To seek funding sources in new markets in line with the LSN business strategy and from other agencies such as trusts and foundations.
  • To further develop a strong, innovative and collaborative research approach involving partnerships with other research centres and institutions.
  • To deliver research in support of the LSN business development strategy as specified.

To develop the organisation

  • To maintain and develop our research and development expertise and capacity in areas of national priority through partnerships, strategic alliances, use of expert associates, and recruitment of expert staff and development of our own expertise
  • To maintain and develop our research reputation in order to ensure continued and enhanced recognition as an authoritative source of knowledge and ideas, informing and influencing the future development of a successful and sustainable system of post-16 learning through delivery of high quality research outputs and engagement with policy making, practice and research communities
  • To provide a research, development and evaluation service to support and enhance the quality of the work of LSN departments and programmes.
