Evaluation and Skills Research Centre

Measuring e-maturity in the offender learning and skills sector

The Learning and Skills Network’s Evaluation and Skills Unit is running surveys looking at use of ICT and e-learning in the offender learning and skills sector on behalf of Becta. Becta has a remit to support use of technology in education and leads on delivery of the government’s e-strategy “Harnessing Technology: Transforming learning and children’s services”. The current research aims to understand the current position and future potential of e-learning for offender learning and skills. Findings will help inform strategic and funding decisions about the development and implementation of ICT and e-learning in the sector.

We would really appreciate you taking the time to complete and return the relevant questionnaire. Your response will help report key messages to Becta and other strategic bodies, and it is important to get as many different viewpoints as possible. The surveys can be accessed via the links below – there are tailored versions for the different organisations and staff who work across offender learning and skills:

One for lead providers, which should be filled in by the OLASS lead at relevant organisations. This questionnaire asks questions about ICT and e-learning strategy and use in relation to OLASS provision.
