The report contains insight and food for thought in two main areas: the nature of our practices to do with teaching and learning, and how these can be improved and what it is like to participate in research.

Summary:

This project is part of the ESRC “Teaching and Learning Research Project. It is based upon a partnership between four universities and four FE colleges. 16 FE learning ‘sites’ provide the foci for an intensive examination of educational practice, learning and learning cultures. Drawing from multiple data sources, the project aims to deepen understanding of the complexities of learning while identifying, implementing and evaluating strategies for its improvement. LSDA is a key partner in the impact strategy for this project. The LSRC are part-funding the publication of this research project with the TLCFE project, as part of an earlier partnership agreement, and concurrently in its continuation of the themes within the strand ‘Building Effective Research’.
